Architecture Department

Project Designer

The Project Designer will be responsible for the day-to-day management and production of the construction document process. The Project Designer will represent Lakeside Development through minimum exposure to clients,  and moderate exposure to consultants, and subcontractors, and will be required to present a professional appearance to outside contacts at all times.  The following are responsibilities expected of the Project Designer:

  • Creating AutoCAD Architecture, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Office construction documents;
  • 5 years of experience desired in creating Residential new construction and/or remodeling construction drawings including the following;
  • Site measure and drawing of any/all existing building conditions.
  • Site Plans
  • Exterior Elevations and Exterior Details.
  • Foundation Plans and Details
  • Floor Plans, structural plans (including understanding of structure and sizing), framing and roof truss plans, building sections, interior elevations and detailing, electrical plans, selection schedules and building specifications.
  • Creating 3D renderings using SketchUp and Enscape.
  • Completing tasks as necessary to ensure that all construction documents conform with the current Construction Document Checklist
  • Completion of assigned tasks within schedule and on budget
  • Assisting the Project Director with project budgets, schedules, bidding and correspondence.
  • Coordinating all efforts with the Project Director and additional Project Designer(s) assigned to Project.
  • Advising the Director of Architecture of any performance enhancing initiatives.

The Project Designer will be expected to assist and learn directly from the Project Director, and serve as a mentor and educator for additional Project Designer(s) and Project Interns to be added in the future.  The Project Designer will be expected to be billable an average of 35 hours per week.

The Project Intern will be responsible for the day-to-day management and production of the construction document process. The Project Intern will represent Lakeside Development through minimum exposure to clients,  and moderate exposure to consultants, and subcontractors, and will be required to present a professional appearance to outside contacts at all times.  The following are responsibilities expected of the Intern:

  • Creating AutoCAD Architecture, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Office construction documents;
  • Creating residential new construction and/or remodeling construction drawings to include the following;
  • Site measure and drawing of any/all existing building conditions.
  • Site Plans
